Italian tastemaker Airbas cooks up more high pressure sounds for the Diversions Music label this summer on a release entitled ‘One Way’.
With roots that reach back to the early 90s techno scene, this artist from the North of Italy has a fresh blend of the old and the new, with deep, tech and disco styles all colouring his production palette. Airbas has recently signed produtions to Natura Viva, Claps Records, Blackboard and VillaHangar and he now asserts himself once more on OXIA and Nicolas Masseyeff’s Diversions Music imprint following releases from Yannick Baudino, Ohmme, Lewis Jimenez and both label bosses.
The release opens with 'One Way', with electric minutes of widescreen techno infused with lush cosmic chords and languid dub undertones. It is a track that will carry away mind, body and soul into another dimension. Once the epic breakdown has got your attention, the drums drop again and off you go into the future. The excellent 'Drama' then gets more choppy, with skewed bass and chunky drums marching away beneath intergalactic synths. Colourful and atmospheric, it finds real soul in the sound of machines.
